Ese Tatupu

Funeral Director & Mortuary Embalmer

Ese Tatupu is a young humble gentleman, brought up in South Auckland. His funeral directing career was nutured under the guidence  of his mentor respected retired funeral director in Australia and New Zealand, the late Mr Lindsay Lancaster.

Ese is a huge supporter of funeral service education. He has also supervised many embalming and funeral directing students undertaking the Wellington Institute Of Technology (Weltec) Embalming and Funeral Directing modules.

Ese Tatupu is also a member of the elite ThirtySixPlus Embalmers Team who travel throughout New Zealand, Australia, and Asia conducting Embalming seminars and demonstrations, sharing their knowledge and skills. He was invited to attend the Professional Institute Of Embalmers in Greenwood, South Carolina USA, with popular American Embalmer - Mr Matt Smith, where he gained a wealth of knowledge and experiences in the ‘Art of embalming’. Ese has also spent time in Chicago, USA with the Frigid Fluid Company - Embalming Fluids Division, understanding and researching its amazing Silicon Technology (Silitech) in its preservative products. Obtaining the rights to use this product has taken the Ese Tatupu Funeral Directors - Mortuary Division brand to an entire new level in embalming.

In his spare time Ese enjoys time with his family and friends.

Luana Michael

Manager & Funeral Director

Luana began her funeral industry career with Ese Tatupu Funeral Directors. The journey has given her the opportuntiy to become an experienced qualified Funeral Director. Obtaining her qualifications in Funeral Directing from Wellington Institute Of Technology (Weltec). With the growth and development in her work she progressed into becoming a well rounded Funeral Home Manager who oversees all funeral operational work.

Luana attended Baradene College in Auckland, and ventured into other work including a position with the Manukau Memorial Gardens Cemetery office prior working with Ese Tatupu Funeral Directors, where she committed to a long term career in the funeral industry.

She has alot of admiration for people and the community. Luana is genuinely a person who will deliver to the families a service with the utmost empathy, respect, care and would always offer support they deserve.

Luana enjoys her time away from her work with family and friends.

Vanessa Tatupu

Funeral Director 

Vanessa began her career in the funeral industry following leaving Sir Edmund Hillary College in Auckland. Growing up surrounded by funeral operational work her father Ese Tatupu was involved with at the time, her interest with funeral work was evident in her upbringing. She would spend time with her father after school and in the weekends. With the support of her father pursuing a career in the funeral industry is a priviledge in its self being able to create her own pathway to helping people in her line of work.

Vanessa is a down to earth person, always goes the extra mile to ensure the clients are always recieving respectful service at all times.

Away from work Vanessa enjoys, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Alyssa Tatupu

Mortuary Embalmer

Alyssa had been brought up in the funeral home environment at a young age. The third eldest daughter of Ese Tatupu had no choice but to help out her father in the funeral home during and after leaving Sir Edmund Hillary College in Auckland. Alyssa enjoys working behind the scenes and is always critical on how important her job is to ensure families loved ones are well cared for whilst in her care. 

Fully trained and taught by the ThirtySixPlus Embalming Team - Ese Tatupu and Pierre Erasmus.

In her spare time Alyssa enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. When not working in the mortuary you will find her baking in the kitchen.  


Elizabeth Vakauta

Mortuary Embalmer

Liz had joined Ese Tatupu Funeral Directors mortuary team after having an interest in the funeral industry while attending Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland. She is also studying Nursing at AUT while working full-time in the funeral home. Liz has a very caring nature and is very respectful. This is evident from being brought up in her Tongan culture.

Fully trained and taught by the ThirtySixPlus Embalming Team - Ese Tatupu and Pierre Erasmus.

Away from the mortuary Liz enjoys spending time with family and friends. At times also helping her father at his vehicle mechanic shop.
